RESIST aims to enhance resilience in several European regions vulnerable to climate change through innovation, science, and technology. The project has a practical framework and focuses on finding real solutions to actual problems in partner regions.
It is inherent to the project that solutions are developed in collaboration with locals in the regions. The project will build solutions based on existing knowledge, which will be demonstrated through climate adaptation demonstrations in four EU regions.
In the Central Denmark Region (Region Midt), the project involves five tracks: IoT groundwater monitoring, XR technology, demo houses, BEST Climate Adaptation, and governance. These tracks are implemented by partners including Region Midt, VIA University College, Niras, Aarhus University, and the Danish Coastal Authority, in cooperation with the partner municipalities of Horsens, Lemvig, Hedensted, Norddjurs, and Randers.
In the project, the Danish Coastal Authority contributes to track three, demo houses. The Coastal Authority’s role is primarily to conduct interviews and workshops to gather residents' experiences of living close to water. These collected stories will be used as user experiences in VIA University College's development and construction of two demonstration houses. The houses will showcase innovative construction techniques and concepts to address extreme events related to elevated water levels. Additionally, the collected data will be used for general knowledge building and dissemination. The Coastal Authority will also develop an inspiration catalog featuring good building examples from the region.
The project is a Horizon project running from January 2023 to December 2027.
