This memo aims to provide The Danish Coastal Authority with a wide and general overview of knowledge and experience on storm surge barriers, by an overview of the different types of barriers as well as some examples of the application of this flood protection method in the Netherlands, UK and Italy. The memo is a first step to assist DCA in providing adequate guidance and support to the municipalities and local associations/land-owners. The memo is followed by a workshop trip that enables DCA to gain more in depth knowledge on Dutch barriers.
